Entrance Fee and Special Pooja Fee
There is no entrance fee to visit the Meenakshi Temple.
However for Meenakshi Amman Tharshan you can Either Have VIP Tharishanam or Fast Track Tharishanam.

Meenakship Amman VIP Tharshan Fee: Rs 500.00
Meenakshi Temple Fast Track Tharshan Fee: Rs 100.00
Meenakshi Aarathanai (Pooja with garland) Fee: Rs 15.00

Please you can use the Public Access way also, but normally it is very crowded especially on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. You may need to stand in queue, sometime more than 45 minutes- 2 hrs.

Having Tourist Guide in Meenakhi Amman Temple

If you are the first time visitor and interested in the architecture and history then you can have the Tour Guide accompany with you. Tour Guide Charge is Rs : 50.00. When you hire the Tour Guide Make sure you that his job to explain the architecture and history of the temple. And tell him that you are not expecting any special pooja ,aarathana and Garland inside the Temple. Why we are telling this.

Tour Guides and Priest Collaboration

Accompanying the Tour guide inside the temple, will highlight you as the stranger or Tourist. Most of the time the Tour Guide you hired will take you to every small and big gods (i mean moorthy or the statue) in that temple. The priest standing next to that statue will immediately offer you garland and some special pooja. Then ask you to pay Rs 100.00 for each Garland. If you are five, then Rs 500.00 is gone in matter of 5 minutes. Your Guide will collect his cut end of the day. One of our Guest from Calcutta spent more than Rs 3500.00 inside the temple.

Please note, Garlands offered by Priest (Brahmins) doesn't gonna increase blessings that you get from Meenakshi Amman Temple. It is just a way to loot your money from your wallet.
